MonRAS: For External (non-Monash staff) Participants

MonRAS is your gateway to ageing research at Monash University.

Involvment of external participants is welcome....

Involvement in MonRAS events and activities is open to a broad range of participants and includes:

• attending conferences, forums, workshops and reference groups
• engaging Monash University ageing researcher expertise to your specific research questions through contract research arrangements or joint funding applications  (eg ARC linkage, community grants schemes, etc)
• participating in research on specific subjects (eg attitudes to specific diseases, experiences with certain treatments) etc

Research Working Groups

MonRAS is establishing a program for thematic working groups. The proposed thematic research working groups are focussed around the ageing themes:

• Cognition, mental health and well being;
• Pain management and optimum use of medicines;
• Design, technology and transport;
• Elder abuse;
• The ageing workforce;
• Evidence based treatment and care of the very old; and
• Health promotion and illness prevention.

The working groups aim to bring a multidisciplinary perspective to these themes, and identify emerging topics in ageing research that can be the subject of prospective research bids. The working groups will provide a springboard for collaboration and the development of competitive research opportunities. Broad participation from a wide range of Monash researchers involved in ageing research, along with key external stakeholders, is anticipated.

Any interested external participants are welcome to join Monash researchers in the MonRAS research working groups.
