About usExtended human lifespan is internationally recognised as one of the major accomplishments of the modern age. However, the ageing of the population brings significant challenges for the future. Research, across a number of disciplines, will assist in addressing the needs and issues and enhancing the life experience of older people in the Australian community. Monash Research for an Ageing Society (MonRAS) is an innovative strategy within and across Monash University to facilitate: a cross-faculty multidisciplinary approach to the study of ageing that consolidates the focus of research activities and resources of the entire university to the development of service, technologies, therapies, policies and programs that address significant issues and improve quality of life of older people and that attract substantial research investment and partnerships.
